Will your kids come in on Monday talking about the Super Bowl? Mine will, and I have some boys who love football. (and girls too!) So I thought I would spend my whole day Monday with a Super Bowl theme! I wanted to share with you some excellent freebies I found to help you plan your football Monday!

This one would be cute for Morning Work:

I love this for Writing:

For math these are great: Task Cards   and   Math Facts Game

And this is fun for Reading Comprehension:

Will you watch Sunday night? I will, I love the commercials! But honestly, I don't really care who wins this one.....but it's fun to watch. Enjoy your Super Bowl Sunday!

I am so excited about an opportunity I have! I am attending the EDexpo 2015 in February with over 50 bloggers to learn about the exciting new educational products that are coming out this year. We get a sneak preview on what is going to be new and different. and we'll select our favorites to write about in our blogs. I am in awe of the company I get to keep this weekend :) Wow, check out the website to see who I will be walking the exhibit floor with and to see which dealers will be there showing off their latest and greatest new products. This is going to be very exciting!

Do you have a 1:1 tablet or BYOD classroom? One thing I have found that my student's love is Today's Meet. Today's Meet is an online chat room, you set up the room prior to the class session. You give your room a name (I name our room with my last name and the word "chat")  To log on the website is very easy. It will be www.today'smeet.com/(the name of the room).

Here are some ways I have used Today's Meet in my class:
-I post a morning message each morning with a question. After their morning work, they log on to answer. On the 100th day, I posted this: I wish I had 100...... Or this morning I asked "If you could be paleontologist, what kind of fossil would you hope to find?
-I also have used Today's Meet during close reading. When I would stop and lead the discuss, I would also pose a question to be answered via Today's Meet. I might ask for students to find evidence in the passage and then type their answer. This really gives everyone a chance to answer the question or voice their opinion.
-Finally, Today's Meet can be used to have a classroom discussion for homework. I just caution this one, though! I have found if it is used outside of school, my students tended to get a little silly with their communication. I would set very specific perimeters and guidelines before doing this!

Today's Meet is free! But for a small monthly fee you can have some added features. I really found these very helpful. With the added features, you can pause the room. This way the room won't get used after school hours without your knowledge :) You can delete a comment that is off topic, or kick off a user that is not following the guidelines of the conversation. The last thing, it enables you to do is type the topic or question in a header at the top.

Here are 10 ways you can use Today's Meet in you class or school:

My class loves Today's Meet and I love the level of student engagement while we are using it!

I am sure you have heard of Kid President, right? That kid is awesome and my class loves him. Well, he had this amazing new idea, it's called a BOOK! Yes, a book. It's a new, old idea. He wants people to send their favorite books to kids or anyone who can use them. Just pass them on!

My friend Felisha at Oh Snap! teaches ESOL at a school not far from me and she leads an ESOL club. She is trying to collect books for incentives for her ESOL students to read more. So, I thought......we can #BookItForward to her awesome ESOL readers! I can't wait for my kiddos to start bringing in those books and I can't wait to get a package of books off to her.....I know she is going to be so excited!

Would you like to #BookItForward? Here's the video!

As Kid President would say "Get out there and change the world"

Happy New Year! Today we ate black eyed peas and greens, I just know 2015 is going to be a great year. It's off to an awesome start so far. I am linking up with Farley for the very first Currently of 2015!

My Florida State Seminoles are loosing right now, so I am crossing my fingers going into the fourth quarter :( It's not looking good right now!

I am so excited to be meeting some fellow Georgia Bloggers tomorrow for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory! So many of these ladies I just know via Facebook, so to meet them face to face is going to be so much fun!

Grades, blah. They speak for themselves.

Yes, I am trying to give up all soda. It's going to be sooooooo hard but I really, really want to do it.

Maybe, I would like to start some sort of exercise program. Some friends at school stay after to workout, so I am going to start there.

I wish....it really is more like a goal to work on growing my tpt store and creating more products!
